People who are more connected with nature are happier, livelier, and have more meaning, and purpose in their lives. Humans have lost touch with the natural movement, becoming more dependent, comfortable, and weak.
As the Healthy Livin Travelers, we try to be more in touch with nature, food, and nature-based lifestyle practices, going back to our primal roots!
2023 Earth Runners Review
What are Earth Runners?
Earth Runners Mission is to help recover our connection with nature and reestablish healthy physical and biological functions.
“Earth Runners were created to rewild our lives in response to the typical modern domesticated lifestyle, which is causing numerous health, psychological, and social issues. Through rewilding, we aim to bring stronger, healthier, and more resilient individuals and communities back to our society.”
Earth Runners are grounding minimalist sandals inspired by the world-renowned long-distance runners, the Tarahumara Native American Indians of Northwestern Mexico. Earth Runner Sandals recreate that one-of-a-kind primal experience of running or hiking barefoot while minimizing the risk of injury to your feet.
What makes Earth Runners different than any other sandal?
- Earthing – All Earth Runners have Grounded Conductive Lifestyle Laces, allowing you to remain connected absorbing the ever-present subtle electrical energies of the earth while wearing them outdoors, but also giving you protection on different terrains.
- Flexible & Lightweight – Earth Runners have a flexible sole that supports our natural foot movement and balance, they are lightweight and a perfect minimalistic travel companion!
- Zero Drop – Zero-drop position your toes and heel so that they’re level, so this is great for your natural stride as if you were walking barefoot!
- Huarache sandal-inspired design – The sandal strap goes between your big toe and second toe similar to a regular pair of sandals but it also goes across the top of your foot and behind your heel – this gives you a more secure fit, which makes them perfect for hiking, working out, running, etc.

Strong feet are the foundations to your HEALTH!
Footwear with a narrow toe-box, elevated heels, and cushioned soles transform your natural stride to be unnatural which then often leads to knees, hips, spine, and even to your neck injury or pain. Healthy footwear should have no negative impact on our health, while poorly-designed footwear can lead to unhealthy posture and even injury.
Your feet affect all of your other moments and are the easiest to leverage in a healthy lifestyle.
Barefoot Shoes and knees
My interest in barefoot shoes began when I started having issues with my knees mostly when running, which then carried over into hiking.
Research has found that shoes with elevated heels create an unnatural position and are not good for joint health, which takes a toll over time. Wearing shoes, such as high-heel shoes may result in degenerative changes to the knee.
Walking barefoot/ or barefoot, flexible shoes allow the foot to move more naturally, which can help to strengthen the muscles and ligaments in the foot and ankle. This can help to prevent knee pain by improving the stability of the joint.
Having a wide toe box is also important so your toes can spread out rather than being squished together! This will also improve balance, strength, and circulation, and reduce the risk of injury!
Barefoot shoes encourage less dependency on shoe equipment and more dependence on strong muscles of the feet and legs, which will help improve body posture, stride, and performance overall!
